THE GAZE is alter ego of queer Melbourne singer/songwriter, Sam Cremean. The talented newcomer blends self-reflexive lyrics with polished dark-pop/rnb beats creating a truly unique sound.
His tunes explore the feelings of excitement and isolation that social media cultures can evoke. His honest and cheeky lyrics offer an insight into contemporary queer culture from both cynical and apologetic perspectives.
Over the past year he’s teased local audiences with the progress of his debut EP ‘SOCIABLE’ on the stages of Honcho Disko, Midsumma Carnival and Gaytimes Festival complimented by dark and sexy music videos for singes Karaoke and Selfish Love. The EP is set to be released on July 19.
The EP features ‘online collaborations’ with US queer hip-hop artists Robyn Banks and Internet Boyfriend as well as Canberran soul superstar Yokelust.
A live launch will take place at The Tote, Collingwood at 8pm with local pop duo The Marion Cranes, Yokelust and DJs, Br00klyn Queenz.
